Terry Henry
Terry Henry, born Aug. 1, 1949, passed away after a brief illness Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication and passion.
He was born to the late Helen “Maxine” Walters Henry and Henry Christopher “Bud” Henry. He was a loving father to Patrick (Carol) and Brian (Gemma) Henry; and a devoted stepfather to Danielle (Michael) Stitt and Deanna (Shane) Robinson. His grandchildren, Diana, Cecelia, Sydney, Jordan, Liam, Jax, Gabe, Reed, Cam and Braya, lovingly called him “Pop Pop” and cherished every moment spent with him.
Terry’s life was enriched by his marriage to Debbie (Kerschbaumer) Henry on Feb. 21, 2007. He was a beloved brother to Larry (Grace) Henry and Patricia (Rob) Texter; and brother-in-law to the late John (Virginia) Kerschbaumer and David (Robyn) Kerschbaumer; and a son-in-law to Eleanor “Peg” Kerschbaumer. His extended family of numerous nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart.
He was a proud graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education and was also a member of its football team. Terry’s passion for football and athletics began at East Brady High School, where he excelled at football and basketball. His coaching career was marked by his time at East Brady High School from 1973 to 1979 and again from 1982 to 1983, and later at Seneca Valley High School from 1984 to 1996. He held head football coaching and athletic director positions at both high schools.
His dedication to football earned him inductions into Seneca Valley’s Hall of Fame in 2013, the Butler County Hall of Fame in 2014, the Minor Pro Football Hall of Fame, Western Pennsylvania in 2016, and the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2017. Throughout his coaching career, Terry was more than just a coach; he was a friend and mentor to many who played for him.
His love for traveling, boating with Debbie and the East Brady Redbank Crowd, and spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their events and watching the boys in their sporting activities, brought him immense joy.
