Butler Township applies for grant for new goalposts
BUTLER TWP — The township is hoping to literally “move the goalposts” at the Pullman Recreation Complex.
Township commissioners voted to apply for a Butler County Parks and Recreation grant for two sets of combination soccer and football goalposts for the facility under development on Hollywood Drive.
According to township manager Tom Knights, the goalposts would cost a combined $7,250.36. The grant is a 25% match, meaning that the grantee would have to finance a quarter of the requested amount, which comes out to $1,812.59.
Knights says that the goalposts currently in use at the facility are borrowed from the Butler Area School District, and the athletic field does not have holes to support permanent goalposts, necessitating a temporary and combined solution.
