Historical society in Evans City hosting presentation
The Evans City Historical Society will present a talk about Massey Harbison, one of Western Pennsylvania’s most famous women, on Monday, Feb. 24.
The talk begins at 7 p.m. in the Community Room behind the Evans City Library, 204 S. Jackson St. in Evans City. The building is accessible from the side door facing Washington Street, according to a news release from the historical society.
In May 1791, Massey and her children were kidnapped from their log cabin by Native Americans. Her tale is of her capture, her time with them, and her return to her family and friends. The presenter is Rick Reifenstein, president of the historical society and a descendant of Harbison.
