Mars Borough Council opted to table a quote from KLH Engineers in the amount of $72,350 for a water line replacement along Crowe Avenue at a meeting Monday, Feb. 17.

Mars Borough Mayor Gregg Hartung said the borough needs to further investigate the construction phase of the quote, which came in at $32,000. Other phases include design, permitting and bidding; which were estimated at $31,850, $4,000 and $2,500, respectively.

However, they opted to approve a quote from the same company in the amount of $1,500 to prepare an application for the Small Water & Sewer Grant program, for stormwater work along West Arch Street and Hazel Avenue.

Representatives from KLH Engineers were present at the previous meeting on Monday, Feb. 3 to discuss the Crowe Avenue water line replacement.
