Water line project to disrupt Cranberry Township traffic next week

Traffic DME

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said a water line relocation project will begin Wednesday, Feb. 26, as part of the Franklin Road Corridor Improvement project in Cranberry Township.

Short-term traffic controls will be in place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. between the Route 228 intersection and Peters Road. Motorists may experience delays and should use caution in the area. Intermittent work on the project will take place through Sept. 12.

The $19 million safety improvement project includes shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips, and sight distance improvements along Franklin Road. The project is estimated to be completed in November 2027.
