More than 300 employees and community leaders attended Armco Steel's Founder's Day ceremonies and luncheon on in April of 1948 in the Reclamation Warehouse building. Scott McMunn, pastor of the Second United Presbyterian Church, George Bernlohr, student adviser of the Butler Senior High School and Floyd Smith, training adviser at the Butler Armco plant.
