Philip Steven Pomykata, 83, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025.

He was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on Sept. 6, 1941, to the late Frank and Ann (Coretsky) Pomykata.

Philip graduated from Butler High School and then honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed going for walks, gardening and reading. Philip was a coin collector and watch enthusiast, and he was a member of the Slovak Club and the American Legion.

He was the father of Steven (Darcie) Pomykata and Christine (Gordon) Davis; and grandfather of Madison and Jacob Pomykata, and Gavin, Owen and Alayna Davis.

POMYKATA — Family and friends of Philip Steven Pomykata, who died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, will be received from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
