Nancy M. Esplen, 89, of Butler, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 20, 2025, while residing at Newhaven Court.

She was born Nov. 16, 1935, in Pittsburgh, and was a daughter of the late Germano and Josephine (Dicarlini) Manfredo.

Nancy worked at and retired from the Pharmacy Department at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She enjoyed dancing, spending time with family, friends and especially watching over her grandchildren. She was known for always having a smile to offer. Her family would like to thank the staff at Newhaven Court for their exceptional care.

Surviving are her children, Richard (Patricia) Esplen, Robert (Jana) Esplen and Donna (Scott) O’Day; grandchildren, Alyssa (Zane) Young, Zach O’Day and AJ Esplen; and three nieces and four nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. “Dick” Esplen, whom she married May 17, 1958; he passed away May 12, 1984; also her sister, Virginia Steighner.

ESPLEN — Private services and burial for Nancy M. Esplen, who died Thursday evening, Feb. 20, 2025, will take place for her family.

Arrangements are under the direction of GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.
