Joann Fabrics and Crafts announced it is going out of business, as the fabric and crafts retailer is set to close all of its stores nationwide after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for a second time.

Earlier in February, the business announced plans to close 500 of its 800 stores, citing weak sales, but after failing to find a buyer that would keep those stores open, the fabrics outlet has now said that all of its locations will close.

The Hudson, Ohio-based company first declared bankruptcy in March 2024, while reporting between $1 billion and $10 billion in debt. Joann filed for bankruptcy for the second time in January.

Joann Fabrics and Crafts has two Butler County locations, one at 160 Pullman Square store in Butler and another at 20111 Route 19 store in Cranberry Township.

Financial services company GA Group, along with Joann's lenders, have acquired the retailer's assets. The new owners are currently conducting going-out-of-business sales at all remaining locations, with sales also being held on the company’s website.

Joann said closure dates will be announced over the company's website and customer gift cards are valid through Feb. 28.
