Moniteau school board celebrates student FFA, approves budgets
CHERRY TWP -- The Moniteau High School student chapter of the Future Farmers of America was honored by the Moniteau School District board of directors at its general meeting Monday, Feb. 24.
The Moniteau FFA recently traveled to the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. Senior student Morgan Teets was awarded first place for being the champion senior showman for the second year in a row.
Teets told the board she beat out about 60 other students from across Pennsylvania.
According to the district’s website, part of the Farm Show showcases dedication and talent of young agricultural enthusiasts from across the state.
“We’re just so proud of those students. They consistently go to local and state events and represent not only themselves and the school district, but the entire community really well,” school board president Michael Panza said. “There are over 500 school districts in the commonwealth, and many schools compete out there, and you hear that we take a first place, one of our students took a third place, they represent us very well.”
