James “Fran” F. Tassey, 78, of Butler, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.

He was born in Oil City on Nov. 12, 1946, to the late James C. and Mary E. (Gallagher) Tassey.

Fran was employed at Lloyd Johnson Office Products and Shamrock Office Products, he gathered 42 years of experience between the two. He was a member of St. Peters Church.

He was the brother of Edward “Ed” Tassey; and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Fran was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia “Pat” Lorenz; his brother, John Tassey; and his best friend of 52 years, Punky Edwards.

TASSEY — All services for James “Fran” F. Tassey, who died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
