An obituary was released Wednesday, Feb. 26, for a woman who died in a Kittanning fire Monday.

Kayla Yyvonne (East) Whittaker, 28, of Kittanning, died with her son Ryland in a house fire that began around 4 a.m. Monday along North Grant Avenue. She was born June 10, 1996, in Kittanning. Jason Blystone Jr. also died in the fire.

According to her obituary, Whittaker was a devoted mom who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and drawing. She is survived by two sons, her mother, two brothers, two sisters, her maternal grandparents, two uncles and an aunt.

Donations are being accepted by Fox Funeral Home Inc. in Saxonburg.
