For the second time in less than a year, the Sprankle family will be getting airtime on national television.

Later this week, the Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market in Kittanning, Armstrong County, will be featured in an episode of CNN’s “The Situation Room,” as part of a segment on inflation. The segment is tentatively scheduled to air on Friday, Feb. 28 between 6 and 7 p.m.

According to Ryan Sprankle, owner of the Kittanning location, the segment serves as a “follow-up” of sorts to now-President Donald Trump’s campaign visit to Kittanning in September, which included a visit to the Sprankle’s store.

“They took a tour of the exact path that (Trump) took through the store,” Sprankle said. “They talked about inflation and they asked how I felt about the inflation in the first month.”

The interview came during a stressful week for the Sprankle family, and had to be delayed by a day as Ryan’s wife, Brandi, went into labor with the birth of a baby girl. Shortly after the interview — which took place on Thursday, Feb. 27 — Ryan returned to the hospital to look after his new daughter, Charlotte.

“Thankfully, everything went smooth,” Ryan said. “I got through the last burping session, went down and did the interview, and now I’m back at the hospital.”

The CNN segment comes less than a year after five members of the Sprankle family, including Ryan and Brandi, made two appearances on the game show Family Feud and won $20,000.
