Age of Aquarius a great success
I would like to express my gratitude to the Age of Aquarius Art and Music Festival volunteers. This festival, which ran Feb. 15 to 22 in Butler, offered something for everyone including a Marc Fogel portrait by Tom Mosser, live music, art exhibits, hobnob theatre company, Vietnam veteran recognition, photography a time capsule presentation by Ed Nebel, raffles, fire spinning, a music history panel and more. The week ended with performances by local band Old School and youth band Burn the Jukebox that had the audience dancing in their seats!
This celebration of art, music and community, encouraged people to visit businesses in downtown while participating in a passport event for a chance to win donated prizes. The list of sponsors, donors and small business participants was impressive.
I would specifically like to recognize the volunteers:
AOA Committee — Roseanne Natili, Paul Scanlon, Terry Kaiserman, David Pinson and Larry Sassone.
Passport Crawl Organizer — Gretchen Heavner.
Volunteers — Armand Natili, Shirley and Keith McCauley, Ed Nebel, Kurt DiGregorio, Tom and Mary Lee Hart, Michele and Alan Stockard, Chris and Rip Minehart, Michele Shidemantle, Bob and Jan Zavacky, Marybeth Mcquistion, Tim and Lynn Flanigan, Judith and Ed Wadding and Terry Steighner.
When I hear people say “there is nothing to do in Butler” my response is always: Shame on you for not looking. Butler County is blessed with experiences for people of all ages to enjoy and the festival is just one example!
