Hike the North Country Trail with Moraine State Park staff
Take a hike in the fresh air, with the option of adding miles to the North Country Trail 100-mile challenge on March 12.
Moraine State Park staff will meet at 1 p.m. at Pavilion 7 at McDanel’s Boat Launch, where people can try their hand at twisting cordage (primitive rope) out of a native plant — dogbane — before heading out on the North Country Trail on a trek that crosses a bridge over Muddy Creek, guides hikers past the dam and features views of Lake Arthur.
Those leading the hike will go out and back on the trail, traveling about 4 miles in all. Hikers have the option to turn back anytime, making the hike shorter as desired.
