The Hotel Saxonburg, which has been a community staple for well over 100 years announced on its Facebook page Wednesday, March 5 that it plans to close.

In the post, it cites the reasoning behind the closure as health issues, rising costs of food and the growing expenses associated with maintaining the historic building.

“It has been an honor to serve this wonderful community, and we're truly grateful for the memories and support we've shared along the way,” part of the post read. “It has been a privilege to host so many of you and we will miss the connections, camaraderie and smiling faces.”
