Margaret ‘Peggy’ Harper
Margaret W. “Peggy” Harper, 87, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 10, 1938, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (Deprist) Witt.
She was a former telephone operator for Bell Telephone of Pittsburgh for six years. She then worked in food service for Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She retired in 1995 following 16 years of service.
Surviving are her three children, Robert J. Harper of Freedom, Cynthia (Tim) Schrecengost of Chicora and Donald J. Harper of Butler; grandson, Timothy Schrecengost Jr.; three grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her niece.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Harper Jr., who passed away Aug. 10, 2020, they were married Jan. 1, 1961; her daughter, Margaret “Peggy” S. Harper; her sister, Nancy Egerman; and her niece.
HARPER — Friends of Margaret W. “Peggy” Harper, who died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, with a service to follow at 3 p.m. at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
Private entombment will be at Pinewood Memorial Park.
