CLEARFIELD TWP — Jesse Umbaugh has been identified as the 2-year-old who died Saturday morning, March 8, when a trailer caught fire on Old Route 422 East and burned down, according to a state police release.

Butler County deputy coroner John Hanovick said the coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy later in the day. Hanovick also said the identity of the 2-year-old is not being released at this time.

Multiple fire departments responded to the fire, which was reported just before 8 a.m. Saturday. State police and several EMS companies also responded to the scene, including a medical helicopter.

The trailer was destroyed in the fire, and access to the road was restricted while crews dealt with the fire. Crews began clearing the scene at around noon.
