David “Dave” Maley, 72, of Herman, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

He was born in Kittanning on Dec. 17, 1952, to the late Chalmer and Jean (Ray) Maley.

Dave graduated from Karns City High School in 1970 and was first employed at Magnetics. In the 1970s, Dave and his brother started their own business as Maley Brothers Roofing. In the ‘80s Dave started, owned and operated Dave Maley Construction for over 35 years until his retirement.

Dave was very active in the R.C. Men’s Club, where he was on the board of directors for many years. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter. He hunted at camp in Pennsylvania, also in Wyoming, Colorado and Canada. Dave lived for hunting and being with his family. He was known for being hardworking, giving and would help anyone. Dave was the best, most caring and loving father and husband.

Dave was the beloved husband of Karen (MacFee) Maley since their marriage in 1978; father of Matthew, Samantha and Denise Maley; and brother of Dan (Sandy) Maley, P.J. (Russ) Pry and Judy (Rufus) Lohmueller. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jenny Maley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave is forever missed by his large and loving family.

Along with his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Maley.

MALEY — All arrangements for David “Dave” Maley, who died Sunday, March 2, 2025, were made privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Roman Catholic Men's Club, 128 Men’s Club Lane, Butler, starting with a funeral Liturgy and a celebration of life service to follow.
