Justin Garvey began the spring season in style Monday afternoon.
North Catholic’s top singles player defeated Mars’ Cal Johnson with an impressive 6-0, 6-1 decision to lead the Trojans to a 3-2 victory at Cranberry Community Park.
Also winning for North were Paddy McCabe in singles play and the doubles duo of Alex Foubert-Lopez and Jake Sinclair.
McCabe’s victory over the Planets’ Lucas Crawford came in three sets — 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Earning wins for Mars were Ethan Palmer at No. 2 singles and Jaxsen Hittle and Zack Wilfong in doubles action.
