Thibault

Major Irene J. Thibault, 64, of Dedham, Mass., formerly of Butler, passed away at 10:49 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., after a brief and tumultuous battle with metastatic melanoma.

Born March 30, 1960, in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter to the late Harry Gaskell and Mary (Cote) Gaskell.

Irene was an assistant to the finance secretary in the Massachusetts division of The Salvation Army. Her hobbies and interests included crafting, sewing and the textile arts. Above all, she loved witnessing to others the love and glory of the Lord.

Surviving are her two daughters, Sarah (Daniel) De Leon of Monsey, N.Y., and Hannah (Jared) Senior at home; and her grandson, Asher De Leon of Monsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Major Henry J. Thibault.

THIBAULT — Friends and family of Major Irene J. Thibault, who died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Interment will be held at North Side Cemetery, Butler.
