Lois Cochrane

Cochrane

Lois Irene (Van Dyke) Cochrane, 95, of East Brady, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 8, 2025, following a brief illness.

Lois was born March 14, 1929, in Kaylor, Pa., to Jacob L. and Edna (Robbins) Van Dyke. Lois had fond memories of her childhood in Bradys Bend. She later moved with her family to East Brady, where she was a 1947 graduate of East Brady High School. She married her husband, Harry W. Cochrane, on May 8, 1948.

Lois was a member of East Brady United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years, and was active in United Methodist Women.

A devoted homemaker, Lois enjoyed cooking, baking and was known for her delicious pies and homemade buns. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music and especially dancing. Lois could be found most Friday nights at the Donegal Grange, dancing and enjoying the music with her friends. Her family will always treasure their memories of her fun-loving spirit, strong Christian faith, and unwavering love and support for each of them.

Lois is survived by her three children, Sherri (Kenneth) Greer of East Brady, Van (Laurie) Cochrane of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Vikki (Lloyd) Peck of Poland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nancy (Cochrane) Wolfe of Treasure Lake, Pa., who lived with Lois and Harry during her teen years; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters; a brother; and her precious great-granddaughter, Jade Nicole.
