Edward Stewart
Edward “Ed” Duane Stewart, 81, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, passed away suddenly Monday morning, March 10, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Homestead on Sept. 6, 1943, the son of the late Rev. Duane and Dorothy Beal Stewart.
He graduated from Mars Area High School in Mars, in 1961, where he met the love of his life, Jane Lynn Kirkpatrick. They married in June 1964 at Glade Run Presbyterian.
In addition to spending time with his immediate and extended family, Ed loved working in the yard, and spending time at Conneaut Lake. A lifelong Christian, he and Lynn were members of Christ Church at Grove Farm in Sewickley.
His career was working with computers, which he enjoyed doing until he passed. He had retired from Mathews International. He was a 33rd Degree Mason at the Grove City Lodge and also belonged to the Masonic Consistory.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years (Jane) Lynn Stewart; two sons, Richard Duane of Pittsburgh and Mark Dean of Gaithersburg, Md. (Heather Kerr); his daughter-in-law, Lynda Stewart of Gibsonia; his grandchildren, Amanda Kight, Dylan Edward Phillip, Colin Michael William, Cameron David Landon, Lily Elizabeth Kerr, Ava Jane Kerr and Graeme Christian Kerr; and three great-grandchildren. His siblings include Thomas Duane Stewart (Victoria) of Grove City and Cheri Davison of Beaver; and four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Timothy David Stewart.
STEWART — Friends of Edward “Ed” Duane Stewart, who died Monday, March 10, 2025, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
