Seven Fields approves road paving program
Members of Seven Fields Borough Council approved the borough’s 2025 paving program during a meeting on Monday, March 10.
The winning bid went to Youngblood Paving for $288,002, beating out the next lowest bid of $487,594 from Shields Asphalt Paving.
Seven Fields set aside $250,000 for road resurfacing in the 2025 General Fund Capital Reserve Budget, according to borough manager Tom Smith.
Six different stretches of roads will be part of this year’s program, including:
• Covington Court, from Castle Creek Drive to the cul-de-sac, will be the most expensive project at $138,678.
• Dorchester Drive, from the intersection of Northridge Drive through the cul-de-sac, will check in at $95,707.
• Forest Drive will receive work at a cost of $21,011.
• Reston Court, from Dorchester Drive to the cul-de-sac, will cost $15,420.
• Mars Crider Road, between Northridge Drive and Sycamore Drive, checks in at $10,307.
• A stretch of Castle Creek Drive to Cumberland Drive will be $6,876.
Roadwork is scheduled to begin later this summer.
“We normally wait until school lets out in the first part of June and after our annual Seven Fields Community Carnival,” he said. “We’ll be having a pre-construction meeting with Youngblood that normally takes place anytime between now and May.”
Council members also approved the hiring of four returning lifeguards for the Town Park Pool, which is set to open Memorial Day weekend, weather permitting, according to Smith.
Smith said any possible changes to the pool’s hours would be announced later.
