East Brady Area Development Corporation has much planned for 2025

A large crowd awaits the East Brady We Believe Light-Up Night in December 2023.

The East Brady Area Development Corporation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of the residents of East Brady and Bradys Bend, has a full schedule of events planned for the borough in 2025.

One of the major events on the East Brady calendar, the 32nd annual Attic and Cellar Days boroughwide garage sale, is scheduled for May 23 and 24.

After the success of the borough’s first beautification contest last August, the nonprofit will hold another one this year. A winner, along with some honorable mentions, will be named for the most attractive property in both the residential and business categories, with contestants judged on curb appeal, maintenance, planning and creativity.

This coming holiday season, East Brady will once again hold its popular Light Up Night and Cookie Crawl event on Saturday, Dec. 6, and its annual luminaria display on Christmas Eve.

The nonprofit also is considering whether to make last year’s community picnic, which was held in August, an annual event and hold it again this year.

Toni Henry, president of the nonprofit, says that the organization also is looking into the possibility of installing a new splash pad at the local playground, replacing two outdated sign panels, purchasing new business signage for the Arnold Beabout Community Center and purchasing a large outdoor screen for a summer “movie in the park” event.

The nonprofit meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month, except for January and December, in room 14 of the community center on Ferry Street in East Brady. The public is welcome to attend.
