Geraldine Armstrong
Geraldine “Gerri” A. Armstrong, 85, of Saxonburg, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Born Sept. 9, 1939, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Pete Polansky and Julia Skwortz Polansky.
Gerri was a woman of quiet strength and faith. She enjoyed getting her hands in the dirt, planting flowers and watching things grow, spring being her favorite time of the year. Gerri studied her Bible daily. She enjoyed bingo and going to the casino. Most of all, she enjoyed conversations with friends, family gatherings and was thrilled to know her first great-grandchild. Her door was always open and she was always available to anyone in need.
Surviving are son, Dennis (Joy) Armstrong of Liberty Center, Ohio; her daughter, Gayle Chirdon of Saxonburg; one sister, Sylvia Kopay; three grandchildren, Steffany (James) Rossi, Kristopher Chirdon and Jennifer (Jake) Depcrymski; one great-granddaughter, Alexandra Depcrymski; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John D. Armstrong; one son, Jeff Armstrong; one grandson, DJ Armstrong; and two sisters, Janet Mallinder and Jackie Rush.
ARMSTRONG — Friends of Geraldine “Gerri” A. Armstrong, who died Tuesday, March 11, 2025, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will follow at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
