Janet Fleeger

Fleeger

Janet M. Fleeger, 88, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Newhaven Court at Clearview in Butler.

She was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Butler, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (McDeavitt) Link.

She was a member of Unionville Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Janet was a loving, strong, classy, God-fearing lady! She LOVED her family FIERCELY. She was a devoted wife to the love of her life for 61 years, Richard. She was The Best Mom and Grammy on this planet. Let’s not forget she was a twin and she adored her sister, when they got together it was all laughter.

Janet worked at Butler Memorial Hospital in the cafeteria in her earlier life. Later, her heart and soul was her family. Janet was a homemaker, and according to Richard, she excelled in that position. She cooked, cleaned, took care of the children, her husband, gardened, and did all the finances for the family. My dad told me once we wouldn’t have what we have if it wasn’t for your Mother. She was a soft, gentle, kind soul who would do anything for you if she could. It was a joy and a blessing to be part of this beautiful lady’s life.

Surviving are her son, Robert and Joyce of New Castle; one daughter, Tammy and her husband, Daniel, of Petrolia; three granddaughters, Autumn and husband, Josh, Amber and Cody and Ashlyn; her sisters, Doris of Butler and Margaret of Hilliards, her twin, Martha of Slippery Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Fleeger, who passed away June 14, 2023; brothers, Dean, Clayton, Victor, Clair, Raymond, David, Norman, Vernon and Art; and two sisters, Mid Stewart and Mary Shinsky.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the care Mom received from the many doting staff members at Newhaven Court and VNA Hospice.
