Carol Ellen Faissler, 84, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Cecil, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank Adam Biringer and Ellen Grace (DePaoli) Biringer. Prior to moving to Butler in 1969, Carol had lived in Bridgeville.

Carol was a 1959 graduate of Bridgeville High School, where she played the glockenspiel in the high school band.

She worked at Pullman Standard as a secretary. She later clerked at the AK Steel plant in Butler for both the melt shop and the electrical department, retiring in 2004, after 16 years.

Carol was past president of Lyndora School PTA in 1978. She was a den mother for Pack 20 of the Boy Scouts.

Carol was always fashionable and stylish. She had a vibrant personality and was generous and caring to all who knew her. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and had a compassion for animals. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving is her son, Paul Faissler of Butler; her daughter, Mary Ellen Hundal of State College; two grandchildren, Carol Beate Hundal and Tor Hundal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Robert Biringer; also a sister, Mary Griffith.

FAISSLER — Friends of Carol Ellen Faissler, who died Wednesday, March 12, 2025, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with services beginning at 6:30 p.m., at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Interment to be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cecil.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
