Cutting services for vets shameful
Butler County has memorials up many places honoring Americans who gave their lives in war to protect our democracy. Hundreds of thousands of Butler County folks have chosen to serve us and our country, to protect us and to promote democracy all over the world. Many of them have been physically and emotionally scarred from their service.
Why on earth would a POTUS withhold needed services from these brave folks by cutting the VA budget and firing VA workers? Why would our District 16 representative in Congress support such a president?
As a Butler County Democrat, I even have to ask why voters voted for Trump knowing, in advance, that this is exactly what he intended to do. See Project 2025.
No Republican or Democrat I know likes government waste.
But, the truth is, a country as rich and as powerful as the USA could never overspend protecting, helping and honoring those who serve. Shame on all of us for buying into Department Of Government Efficiency lies. Especially, shame on Rep. Mike Kelly for failing his leadership job in District 16.
And to vets, thank you for serving. We'll do better for you. We promise.
