Charles Laska

Laska

Charles “Chuck” Laska, 72, of Butler, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025. He was born in Titusville, Pa., on May 4, 1952, and was the son to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Strafalace) Laska.

In 1970, Chuck graduated from Titusville High School, and in 1973 he graduated from New Castle Business College with an associate degree in specialized business. He was employed at International Staple and Machine and, most recently, with Marmon/Keystone as a credit manager.

Chuck grew up loving and playing basketball, and he played in high school and at college. He was an avid hockey fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and was heavily involved with the Butler High School Hockey Association. In the summer he enjoyed playing softball and listening to the Pirates while laying by the pool. But to his core, Chuck was a Cleveland Browns fan. He loved his time at neighborhood poker nights and wearing his flip-flops, shorts and old hats. Chuck was known for having a heart of gold and was willing to do anything for anyone. He was known as “Coach” to many. He was an amazing father and role model to not only his children, but to others as well.

Chuck was the father of Blair and Eric Laska; he also is survived by his daughter-in-law, Stefanie (Snyder) Laska; and son-in-law, Devan Johnson. He was the brother of Rita, Ceda, Autumn and Clair; and grandfather of Crosby and Carter Laska.

Along with his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sisters, Jane and Rhonda. Jane had an inseparable bond with him throughout their lives and was very instrumental in his life.
