Leonilla Foster
Leonilla V. “Lee” Foster, 89, of Penn Township, Butler, passed away Saturday morning, March 15, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Kline Smutney.
She was a 1953 graduate of Emlenton High School.
Lee was the administrator of the paint department at Servicestar Hardware (formerly American Hardware) in East Butler until her retirement.
She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church/St. Mark the Evangelist Parish.
Lee was dearly loved by her family, especially by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by her beloved dog, “Angel.” She enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren's various sporting events and monthly luncheons with her girlfriends.
She will be truly missed by her family, friends and all those who loved her.
She was the loving mother of Ken Foster (Laurie) of Penn Township, Jeff Foster (Bobbi) of Cabot, Greg Foster (Linda) of Sarver and Sharon Leslie (Jeff) of Valencia; beloved grandmother of Jamie Foster, Lindsay Conjack (Kiel), Tyler Foster (Mallory), Callie Weleski (Zac), Jeffrey Foster (Merissa), Jaclyn Foster, Erin Macurdy (Jeremy), Chad Leslie (Brooke), Taylor Mincer (Connor) and Raelene Honzo (Kyle); and great-grandmother of Kendyl, Blake, Jameson, Cameron, Claire, Dawson, Reese, Nathan, Jordan, Leah, Paige, Reagan, McCoy, Hyde and Tate. She also is survived by her beloved canine companion, Angel; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Foster Sr., whom she married April 27, 1957, and who died March 8, 1999; a grandson, Andrew Foster; and two brothers, Francis and Clifford Smutney.
FOSTER — Friends of Leonilla V. “Lee” Foster, who died Saturday, March 15, 2025, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler. Please meet at the church.
Burial will be private for the family at Brownsdale Cemetery, Penn Township.
