Alfred Wiemann
Alfred Edward Wiemann, 82, of Cranberry, Clarion County, passed away Friday evening, March 14, 2025, at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born in Pittsburgh on June 16, 1942, he was the son of the late Alfred and Marie Mihm Wiemann.
He was a 1960 graduate of Mars High School and a 1966 graduate of Lock Haven State College. A teacher, Al taught physical education, biology and driver’s education for Anne Arundel County School System in Glen Burnie, Md., retiring in 1993 after 27 years of service.
Al had built his home by himself in Cranberry, starting in 1993 and moving in in 1998. He also was a beekeeper, 1950 to 2017. He was a member of the Train Collectors Association and was a large collector of prewar Lionel and Ives models. He also collected antique cars and tractors.
Al did not travel widely, but enjoyed, as he put it, “traveling around the sun.”
Surviving are a sister, Lois Bertelson of Dillon, Mont.; two brothers, Jerry Wiemann (Colleen) of Mars and Ray Wiemann of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; five nieces; one nephew; and five great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Wiemann Graham; and a brother, Walter L. Wiemann.
WIEMANN — Friends of Alfred Edward Wiemann, who died Friday, March 14, 2025, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mars Cemetery.
