Master Gardener Seed to Supper classes demystify vegetable gardening

Learn to grow your own food during the free, seven-session Seed to Supper program offered by Community Partnership and the Penn State Extension Master Gardener program.

The program highlights practical, low-cost gardening techniques for building, planning, planting, maintaining and harvesting a successful vegetable garden. Participants will receive materials and seeds for their home gardens.

Everyone can learn something from the program, whether you live in an apartment or on an acreage. All Butler County residents are invited to participate in these classes designed for adults on a budget. Priority enrollment is given to income-eligible participants and veterans, who can join at no cost.

Classes will be held every Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. April 1 through May 13. at the Artisan Resiliency Center, formerly the Artisan Catering Company Restaurant, 781 New Castle Road, Franklin Township.

Registration applications are available now. Applicants can register in person from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 21, or from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the center. The Penn State Extension Master Gardener volunteer program supports the outreach mission of Penn State Extension by utilizing unbiased research-based information to educate the public and our communities on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship.
