Elizabeth “Betty” Ruth Garland, 91, of Zelienople, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.

Born April 9, 1933, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. Rose and Elizabeth (Kaven) Rose.

Betty enjoyed traveling, which included several trips to Europe, the Western part of the USA, and cruising. She also enjoyed anything to do with water, especially water skiing. Above all, Betty cherished the time she spent with her family, making sure to always relay her favorite sayings to them time and time again: “You are my sunshine” and “Love you to the moon and back.”

Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Roy (Jane) Garland Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Barb Garland; her grandchildren, Gregory (Tina) Garland, Michelle Velasco, Chad (Sherri Taylor) Garland, Chet Garland and Jamie (Luke) Wazenegger; and her great-grandchildren, Elias (Sarrah) Velasco, Tyler, Anna and Hope Garland, Morgan and Lidia Wazenneger and Xavier Garland; and great-great-grandchildren, Leah, Elias and James Velasco.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Garland Sr., on April 7, 2011; her sons, Michael and Daniel Garland; her daughter-in-law, Clara Garland; and her brother, Charles Rose.

GARLAND — Friends and family of Elizabeth “Betty” Ruth Garland, who died Saturday, March 15, 2025, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.
