Carbon monoxide cause of 2 Washington Township deaths last month
Details about the deaths of two men found Feb. 26 in a Washington Township home were released Wednesday, March 19, by deputy coroner Korynne Young.
Father and son Donald Swope, 76, and Scott Swope, 53, both died of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, she said. They were found in a home in the 100 block of Swope Road.
Police had earlier said the home tested negative for carbon monoxide.
The call for the two men came in around 4:08 p.m. on Feb. 26, reporting carbon monoxide in the residence, according to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch. State police and Butler Ambulance Service responded to the incident.
