Dylan Chappell, Seneca Valley grad, making 3rd NCAA Wrestling Championships appearance with Bucknell
Seneca Valley graduate Dylan Chappell is competing Thursday in his final NCAA Wrestling Championship.
The Bucknell senior 141-pounder is the 21st seed in his weight class. Chappell is 19-10 this season and 85-38 for his career. He claimed silver for the third time two weeks ago at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Championships, falling to Navy's Josh Koderhandt, the No. 7 wrestler in the nation.
Last year at nationals, Chapelle went 1-2 and lost in wrestlebacks at 141 pounds. As a sophomore at 149, he went 0-2 at nationals.
The national championships begin noon Thursday in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center with the preliminary round. Wrestlebacks will be at 7 p.m., and the tournament continues Friday with quarterfinals, semifinals and wrestlebacks and Saturday with medal rounds.
