Middlesex Township signs signal maintenance agreement with PennDOT
Middlesex Township voted during its monthly board of supervisors meeting on Wednesday night, March 19, to sign a traffic signal maintenance agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
This is in keeping with policies PennDOT issued in December 2020 that require municipalities to enter into a traffic signal maintenance agreement before issuing any new traffic signal permits. The agreement will apply to all traffic signals owned by the township, past and future.
“The township would used to sign a maintenance agreement for each individual signal,” said township supervisor Jeffrey Winkle. “They’ve gone to an overarching agreement instead, and they’re asking us to sign that. And it’ll get rid of the individual maintenance agreements.”
