Dolores S. Sipos, 96, formerly of Butler, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Austin, Texas.

She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Rankin, Pa., a daughter of the late Thomas and Thelma Joseph. She was the wife of the late Joseph Sipos, to whom she was married for 58 years, until his passing on July 23, 2010.

Dolores graduated from high school, had attended Penn State, worked at the VA Medical Center and was the first female agent for the IRS in Western Pennsylvania, retiring from the Butler office after 11 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church, where she was a board member, treasurer and choir director. She was an artist and iconographer with dozens of icons hung at St. Anthony’s Church.

Surviving are her children, Barbara Janusheske and her husband, Mike, Linda Beverley, and Lawrence Sipos and his wife, Janice; grandchildren, Jennifer Bisang and her husband, Kevin, Anthony Weber and his wife, Trina, Theresa Miles, Lindsey Sipos, Megan Sipos and her husband, Eric Botts, and Luke Sipos; and great-grandchildren, Samantha Weber and Marrisa Weber.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Sipos; and her brother, Donald Joseph.

SIPOS — Friends of Dolores S. Sipos, who died Saturday, March 8, 2025, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Trisagion Prayers of Mercy for the Departed will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church, 400 S. Sixth Ave., Butler. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum of Butler County Memorial Park.
