Cousins

Kaylene Dawn “Sis” Cousins, 59, of Karns City, went to be with the Lord while in the presence of her loving family early Wednesday morning, March 19, 2025, at Chicora Medical Center.

Kaylene was born in Butler on May 17, 1965. She was the daughter of Virgil R. and Sandra J. Kamerer Cousins of Karns City.

She was a 1983 graduate of Karns City Area High School and a longtime member of the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy. Kaylene enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, reading, coin collecting, ceramics and bowling with the ladies league at Bruin Lanes.

Following graduation, she attended Butler County Community College, and prior to her illness, was employed at Riverside Market in Petrolia. Kaylene loved kids and was a babysitter for many years for her nieces, nephews and neighbors, many of whom stayed with her on weekends and looked forward to the pizza parties.

In addition to her loving parents, Kaylene is survived by two brothers, V. Keith Cousins and his wife, Darlene, of Karns City, and Brandon D. Cousins and his wife, Amy, of Petrolia; Kaylene was affectionately “Nana” to her nieces and nephews, Adam Cousins and his wife, Whitney, of Bruin, Lauren Cousins (Evan) of St. Petersburg, Hunter Cousins of Petrolia, and Harlie Cousins (Chris) of Columbus, Ohio; as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews, Ava, Grayson and Lincoln. Also surviving are a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Family Life Services of Chicora for their many years of wonderful care.

COUSINS — Friends of Kaylene Dawn “Sis” Cousins, who died Wednesday, March 19, 2025, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF KARNS CITY, 128 Main St., Karns City. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Bishop Alan Ion, Kaylene’s church pastor, and Pastor O.J. Roudebush, of the Church of God of Prophecy, co-officiating.

Interment will be beside her maternal grandmother at Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.
