Michael Saunders

Michael P. Saunders, 97, of Saxonburg, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at his home.

Born March 14, 1928, in Dorseyvillle, he was the son of Henry G. Saunders and Margaret Davis Saunders.

Mike served in the U.S. Army during Korea. He was a lifelong farmer. He had worked in the coal mines and for the Bessemer and Lake Erie railroad on the train crew, and he was a bus driver and a security guard at Butler Memorial Hospital. In his later years, he grew hydroponic tomatoes.

He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Herman.

Surviving are his sister, Eleanore J. Noah of Butler; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry G. Saunders and William T. Saunders; and two sisters, Margaret Allman and Lorraine Murray.

SAUNDERS — Friends of Michael P. Saunders, who died Saturday, March 22, 2025, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.

A blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26 at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice.
