Multiple emergency crews responded to a fire at a business on Kittanning Street in Butler on Tuesday morning, March 25.
The fire, reported around 11 a.m., damaged the building used to store construction materials by Interstate Builders, a general contractor, according to Christopher Switala, chief of Butler Bureau of Fire.
No one was injured in the fire, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said.
“We did isolate the area of origin to a corner of the building on the inside,” Switala said. “The building was just used for storage of construction materials, and there was nobody in the building at the time of the fire.”
The fire was reported as a passerby called to report smoke coming out of the one-story garage. Fire departments arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire at the structure. Butler City Police Department shut down a section of Kittanning Street near the intersection with East Jefferson Street.
Responding to the scene were the Butler Bureau of Fire, Butler Township Volunteer Fire Department, Butler VA Fire & Emergency Services, and the Butler City Police.
