Bruce H. “Chief” Cummings, 86, of Gibsonia, passed peacefully at home Monday, March 24, 2025.

Born Oct. 10, 1938, in Quakertown, Pa., Bruce was the son of the late Howard F. and Esther (Welker) Cummings. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jackie (Clarke) Cummings.

Known as “Chief” to his grandchildren and friends, Bruce was a passionate golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course and engaging in spirited debates with his grandchildren. He was a proud graduate of Quakertown High School and Moravian College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

An accomplished pilot, Bruce’s love for aviation was matched only by his enthusiasm for golf and his favorite card game, gin. He spent countless hours playing golf at Butler Country Club with friends and family, where he created many cherished memories.

Bruce is also survived by his children, son, Marc Cummings (Amy), and daughters, Cindy Cummings Ingalls (Scott) and Dawn Wittmer (Dave), all of Butler; as well as eight grandchildren, Hillary (Dan), Stephanie (Steve), Austin, Chadd, Rachael, Meredith, Matt and Heather; one great-granddaughter, Sylvie; and one sister, Diane Landes of Collegeville, Pa.

CUMMINGS — At the family’s request, there will be no visitation, and funeral services will be held privately for Bruce H. “Chief” Cummings, who died Monday, March 24, 2025.
