Eleanore Phillips Dickey, 67, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 9, 1957, in Butler, to the late Victor K. Phillips and the late Janice C. Phillips Larrick.

Eleanore graduated from Butler Area High School and Duquesne University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She also served on the Butler YMCA Board of Directors and North Side Cemetery Board of Directors for many years.

Eleanore was loved for many reasons: her outgoing, down-to-earth and friendly personality; her caring nature; her genuine interest in others’ lives; her strong will; funny disposition; her contagious laugh; kindness; generosity; and above all her love for life, friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph M. Dickey, whom she married May 19, 1979; one son, Britton P. (Nicole) Dickey of Golden, Colo.; two daughters, Anne Katherine (Gary) Martin of Palmyra, Va. and Jennifer L. (Garrett) Kaiser of Prospect; nine grandchildren, Lauren Martin, Emily Martin, Benjamin Martin, David Martin, Cameron Dickey, Andrew Dickey, Garrett Kaiser, Eleanore Kaiser and Jackson Kaiser; two brothers, Victor K. Phillips Jr. of Lenior, Tenn., and Gordon Phillips of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; four sisters, Elizabeth Iarrapino of Pittsburgh, Clarinda Roe of Johnson City, Tenn., Victoria Kelly of Butler and Undine Fader of Montgomery, Texas; and seven nieces and 11 nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joel Phillips and David Phillips.

DICKEY — Family and friends of Eleanore Phillips Dickey, who died Saturday, March 22, 2025, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 27, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at First Baptist Christian Church, 221 W. New Castle St., Butler, with Pastor Gordon Powell and Pastor David Maitland officiating.

She will be laid to rest in Northside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mission MSA at missionmsa.org.
