One woman was seriously injured Thursday, March 27, after her minivan traveled over a hillside and into a creek in Buffalo Township.
According to Tim Derringer, Buffalo Township police chief, emergency personnel were called to the intersection of South Pike and Sarver roads just before 5 p.m. after receiving reports that a vehicle traveling east on Route 228 had left the road, went over a hillside and crashed.
The unidentified woman sustained “severe injuries to her leg and head” and was airlifted to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Derringer said.
Two off-duty nurses witnessed the crash, went down the embankment and administered first aid to the woman,” Derringer said.
