Three Seneca Valley students are among 579 students nationwide to be named 2025 Carson Scholars. Yasmeen Fahs and Ashlynn Kazmarek, sixth-graders at Haine Middle School, and Cameron Swope, a seventh-grader at Ryan Gloyer Middle School, have earned this distinction recognizing their academic excellence and commitment to service.

A Thursday, March 27, news release from Seneca Valley School District said these students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship that will be invested toward their college educations, along with a medal and certificate. They will be formally recognized at the Carson Scholars Fund’s Annual Pittsburgh Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 6.

“This honor recognizes their exceptional academic achievement and dedication to serving their community,” said Jeremy Womer, assistant principal of Haine Middle School.

Yasmeen, Ashlynn and Cameron were selected because they demonstrate the highest standards of academic achievement, integrity, and civic and social responsibility, the news release said.
