Butler JV hockey team wins PIHL championship over Morgantown, capping undefeated season

Butler's junior varsity hockey team went 14-0-2 on the ice this season and went on to beat Morgantown (W.Va.) 8-0 Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Ice Castle Arena, Pittsburgh, for the JV championship. Butler's junior varsity hockey team went 14-0-2 on the ice this season and went on to beat Morgantown (W.Va.) 8-0 Thursday at Ice Castle Arena, Pittsburgh, for the JV championship.

Lucas Hensler and Aden Devore scored twice for the Golden Tornado in the final, and each had two assists. Kellen McFadden scored a goal and had two assists, and Evan Mikan had two assists. Jordan Simon, Mason Heichel and Logan Bish also scored.

Kaidon Vorel and Harper Slater combined for seven saves in the net.

Butler went 3-0 in the postseason.

Heichel led the Tornado with 22 goals and 15 assists during the regular season, and Hensler scored 20 and had 11 assists.
