Maureen M. Hartz
Maureen M. Hartz, 91, of Prospect, formerly of Ross Township, passed away Saturday morning, March 29, 2025, at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born Jan. 6, 1934, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Wehner Merks.
Maureen had been a tax collector for the North Hills School District for many years. She enjoyed serving on the election board.
A member of St. Faustina Parish at St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church in Prospect, she also belonged to the Mellwood Women's Club for over 50 years.
Maureen loved the Pirates and Steelers, and also enjoyed doing crafts.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Williams (Vernon) of Portersville; a son, Daniel Hartz (Donna) of Queens, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Justin Morrissey of Vale, Colo., Stephanie Aslanturk (Ozcan) of Glenshaw and Megan Morrissey (David Chun) of New Hampshire; her great-grandchildren, Adem and Demelza Aslanturk; three special girls who called her “Auntie Mo,” Susan, Valerie and Terrie; and her former husband, William Hartz.
