Samuel Juracko Jr.
Samuel R. Juracko Jr., 75, of Clay Township, formerly of the Northside of Pittsburgh, passed away at his home Friday, March 28, 2025, after an extended illness.
Born Dec. 3, 1949, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Barb (Furrer) Juracko.
Sam was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during Vietnam aboard the USS James E. Kyes DD-787. He returned home to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves for seven years. He later retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Pittsburgh. He was a longtime member of West Sunbury American Legion Post 243, the VFW, the Elks Club and Boy Scouts where he was an Eagle Scout alongside his brothers.
Sam is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen E. (Lape) Juracko; two daughters, Samantha (John) Arlet and Theresa Juracko; five grandchildren, Haley (Brad) Manjack, Maisie, John and Mya Arlet and Evan Juracko; and one great-granddaughter, Norah May Manjack. He also is survived by his brothers, Fran (Jill), Dave (Gerry), Joe (Sarah) and Paul (Dorothy) Juracko; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard (Barb) Juracko.
JURACKO — Family and friends of Samuel R. Juracko Jr., who died Friday, March 28, 2025, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday April 1, 2025, at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately.
