T.J. Wiley will take over Knoch’s football team in 2025.

Wiley was approved as the new coach at Knoch school board’s Wednesday, April 2 meeting. Wiley has 21 years of coaching experience in western Pennsylvania.

Wiley is currently an assistant coach at Shaler. Most recently, he was the head coach at Bishop Canevin in 2019, where he went 1-9 in one season. He has also coached at Vincentian Academy, Northgate, Deer Lakes and Penn-Trafford.

Wiley is a Titusville native and was a three-year starting quarterback for Thiel College.

“We’re excited to have T.J. here,” David Foley, Knoch’s superintendent, said after the board meeting. “We’re excited for our students, our student athletes, he’s eager to get started, and we’re eager to get him in here and on campus.”

The school board also said it would approve some new assistant coaches at it’s general board meeting next week.

Wiley replaces Tim Burchett, who resigned in early February after a 2024 season in which the Knights went 3-6 after bumping up to Class 4A and dealing with numerous injuries.

Burchett was 12-18 in three seasons, leading Knoch to the WPIAL Class 3A playoffs in 2023 while going 8-3.

Barring a late resignation or retirement, Wiley’s hiring completes this year’s Butler County coaching carousel. Seneca Valley named Don Barclay its next coach in February, and Moniteau hired Clay Kohlmeyer in January.
