Thank you for helping honor service members

The Wreaths Across America program and Saxonburg VFW Post 7376 Auxiliary partnered with the Saxonburg Memorial Cemetery to honor those who sacrificed for our freedom.

In December, for the first time, we placed a wreath on every veteran’s grave. It could not have been done without the help from many as we laid over 500 wreaths.

Thank you to Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church for allowing us to honor those in this cemetery, Saxonburg Borough for its help and cooperation, Fox Funeral Home for allowing parking, American Legion Post 683 Honor Guard, Pastor Doug Dorsey and Minister Jeanine Sanford for their kind words, Caden Hassler and Michael Hooks for the taps presentation, Nick Collins for singing the national anthem, Butler Eagle for its coverage, and Adamik Refuse for donating the roll off box for cleanup.

None of this would have been possible without Brad Pflugh and the Knoch High School History Club for their guidance and support, Saxonburg VFW Post 7376, and the many volunteers that came out, to both distribute wreaths in December and cleanup wreaths in March.

We look forward to continuing this tradition in the Saxonburg community, and will be laying wreaths this year Dec. 13.

We invite everyone to participate as we remember, honor and teach. If you would like to donate a wreath, please go to the Wreaths Across America website www.wreathsacrossamerica.org. Our location is PASBCS. We appreciate your support!

Laura Thoma, Saxonburg VFW Post 7376 Auxiliary
